I feel...is this a thing? The opposite of self-conscious.
— Jennifer
I have never felt this much freedom in my body, my entire life.
— Shannon
You changed my life on Sunday night! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

When I arrived, you asked if it took courage for me to come. In some ways, the answer is the one I gave you — a big YES! But, in other ways, not at all. Knowing you, I did not have a moment’s hesitation about showing up. I felt confident you would create a safe space, and I felt sure I would love it. Boy did I ever!

Thank you for allowing me to experience what it feels like to fully inhabit my body, and to listen to what it is calling me to do. I’ve been officially glowing for two days straight. :)
— Brittany (hadn't danced since 6th grade)
I don’t remember exactly what I said after the last JoyLab but my feeling was around seeing fellow JoyLabbers outdoors leaping and twirling and shimmying, with no shame or self-consciousness and it made me wish deeply for all women to feel such liberation.
— Cynthia
Michell effortlessly holds space for deep inner child work. Her class is a portal to that sacred inner space where we meet our childhood hopes, dreams, and sorrows as they emerge from every movement. Without needing to name it as such, Michell offers an extraordinarily therapeutic experience of somatic integration.
— Prapti M., MD (Psychiatrist)
Thank you for another wonderful Journey last night!! They are now a part of my essential self-care routine. Thank you thank you!!
— Crystal
Your classes are like me doing body work on myself (with your guidance). I can really work out all the psychosomatic gunk, kinks, aches and residue and get my body back into a resourced, joyful place of flow. I love it so much. And I love that it isn’t a club, isn’t a yoga class, ISN’T just Zumba - its a great mix of all three. I feel very safe there and have enjoyed meeting the other ladies you are pulling in.
I need another one right now . Those aches come back into my neck and shoulders... self doubt... money worries... all that.
— Elizabeth
I saw a JoyLab flyer at NOW and, not being a dancer, decided to try it on a whim-it fundamentally changed my yoga practice! After taking my first JoyLab class, I felt a connection, freedom, and satisfaction I never had access to before. And it was Fun! I felt connected to my body and I also felt connected to the great women in the room!
— Jennifer
I feel so happy this morning! I always feel like that after JoyLab.
— Camilla
...it’s what happens AFTER Joylab that is really interesting...I am dancing naturally more often.
I’m finding moments in between to ooze, stretch, and groove. In my garage alone w/ headphones, at the center after class, in my bathroom…
— Alicia
Last night I danced with complete freedom under this tree. It was an invitation to move, release from all expectation, separate from my nagging inner critic (l’ve named her Laverne and she is so nasty), and just accept myself in that moment. I have a tendency to question my worth and purpose, I imagine we all do.
Last night was a confirmation that I am exactly who I need to be and where I am meant to be. Thank you.
