YOUNG CHILDREN
When I teach movement to young children, I focus heavily on Joy, imagery, playfulness, and structured freedom. Kids light up as they discover new ways of expressing and moving.
“Thank you for such a fun NIA workshop last week! Our kids love to move, but we were still so pleasantly surprised at how much they took to it. It really is a testament to your ability to make the movement accessible for young children Michell. We have visions of you coming to do workshops with our new class next year and the year after that and....We loved it!”
~Sarita Escobar, Head Teacher at The Little School, San Francisco
P.S. I have been teaching at The Little School 12 years now! They keep asking me back :)
TEENS
When I teach movement to teens/pre-teens, I emphasize the importance of giving oneself permission to have fun, It’s ok to be. It’s okay to express. My JoyLab headphones and line dance tutorials help with this demographic!
“You are the magic maker-your energy is contagious and the kids need people like you!! I have to share Ian from 6th grade said he had fun yesterday…I told him I would record him saying this…it made my day.”
-Blake Little, P.E. Teacher at Ross Middle School
